Homa Bay County has received a major power initiative project to deal with the cumbersome power blackouts experienced in the county which causes delay in Industrialization and processing activities.
The project that goes under the name ‘Boresha Umeme Homa Bay’ is set to cost Sh 80million to be developed in a bid to increase electricity supply six times the initial flow.
According to a statement released today by Kenya Power, this exercise will be carried out countrywide so as to upgrade power supply systems. For this reason, the company will conduct master repairs at existing substations in order to create substitutes to other sources of power.
The statement adds that Kenya Power will provide a power back up system to ensure activities go on as usual within the county.
This kind of initiative has succeeded in Nairobi, Busia, Meru, Thika, Kisumu, Kitui and Bungoma counties having reported quality service improvements.
