Call for Proposals from financial institutions to implement Results-Based Financing (RBF) Scheme for Solar PV Hybrid Mini-Grid Systems

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fiir Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Kenya as part of the global Energising Development (EnDev) Programme has commenced the implementation of a result-based finance (RBF) initiative that will provide financial incentives to private project developers (i.e. RBF beneficiaries) investing in solar hybrid mini-grids. This will be supported by the Promotion of Solar Hybrid Mini-grids (ProSolar) Programme.

The RBF project, “Market Creation for Private Sector-Operated Mini-Grids in Kenya”, has 1.55 million Euros reserved for payment of incentives to private project deveiopers after delivery and verification of pre-agreed objectives and results. In addition, the project has funds for management and othe/ direct implementation costs, for use by GIZ EnDev and the financial institution that will be selected to assume the role of Project Implemented

GIZ EnDev hereby invites applications from interested financial institutions to implement the above project under a grant agreement. The implementation time frame is 3 (three) years between April 2015 and June 2018.
