REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF KAPKATET TEA FACTORY – TEBESONIK SITE IN KERICHO COUNTY

Kenya Tea Development Agency (Management Services) Ltd is seeking to pre-qualify contractors for the construction of proposed Kapkatet Tea Factory – Tebesonik Site located in Kericho County.

The tendering process shall be in two options:-

 

Option 1 – Separate bids

Under this option, eligible contractors shall submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) for prequalification for any of the following works:

 

Building and Civil Works

Structural Steel Works

Electrical Installation Works

Mechanical Installation Works.

Option 2 – Full Contract bids

 

Under this option, eligible contractors shall submit their comprehensive EOI for prequalification for carrying out all the Building and Civil Works, Structural Steel Works, Electrical and Mechanical Installations Works under one entity.

 

For each option, eligible contractors MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) under the following categories:-

 

1.

Building & Civil Works

NCA-Category 1

 

2.

Structural Steel Works

NCA- Category 2

 

3.

Electrical Installation Works

NCA- Category 2 and above and ERC Class B

 

4.

Mechanical Works (Plumbing , Drainage & Fire fighting) –

NCA-Category 2 and above

 

Mandatory Requirements

The EOI must be accompanied by the following: –

 

Certified copies of Certificates of Registration with the said NCA category and ERC where applicable

Certified copies of PIN and VAT Registration Certificates;

Certified copy of TAX compliance certificate

Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation

Certified copy of the current Business Permit from the Relevant Authority

Audited financial statements for the last three years.

Other Requirements

 

Company Profile;

Certified copies of registration with any other Relevant Authorities;

Total monetary value of Contract Works performed for each of the last three years;

Names and contact details of clients for whom works were undertaken; including completion certificates;

Major items of Construction Equipment owned;

Qualification and experience of Key Personnel;

Authority to seek references from Bankers and Clients;

An indication of the principal place of business, daytime contact telephone number(s) and e-mail addresses;

 Any litigation history, to be verified by KTDA.

Selection Process

 

On the basis of information obtained from eligible contractors, KTDA will prepare a shortlist of prequalified contractors who will subsequently be invited to tender for the project under the two options.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly labeled “Expression of Interest for Construction of Proposed Tebesonik Tea Factory” and addressed to:-

Completed EOI documents should be deposited in the tender Box at the reception on Ground Floor, KTDA Farmers Building, and Moi Avenue so as to be received on or before 1st September 2015 at 9.00 AM.

KTDA will not reimburse any cost or expenses incurred in connection with the preparation and delivery of EOI or visits to any office or site.

Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification from the tendering process.
