INVITATION TO TENDER

TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF 3 GEOTHERMAL MODULAR POWER PLANTS EACH OF 30 MW AT MENENGAI GEOTHERMAL FIELD ON A BUILD-OWN-OPERATE BASIS

TENDER NO. GDC/ HQS /OT/007/2013:2014

1.1       Geothermal Development Company Limited (GDC) invites bids from eligible bidders to finance, design, procure/manufacture, supply, install, construct, test, commission, operate and maintain three (3) Geothermal Modular Power Plants each of 30MW on a 25 year Build Own Operate (BOO) basis at its Menengai Geothermal Field. Through this process, it is planned that three (3) different bidders will be selected each to install a 30MW Geothermal Modular Power Plant to be commissioned by end of December 2014.

1.2       The total 90MW generation is distinct and is in addition to the 400MW Menengai Phase I Project development scheduled for commissioning by 2016/2017.

1.3       Interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the tender documents from July 29, 2013 at the Geothermal Development Company offices whose address given below:

1.4       The interested bidders will be required to attend a Pre-Bid Site Visit to the Menengai Geothermal Project and a meeting both on August 23, 2013. Bidders are requested to assemble in GDC Polo Centre Boardroom at 9.00Am.

1.5       An electronic copy of the complete tender document may be obtained by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 5,000.00 or USD. 60 payable to Geothermal Development Company Limited accounts office in cash or by banker’s cheque. Bidders are advised that the fee does not include postage charges and are strongly advised to arrange for direct collection of the tender documents.

1.6       The tenderers shall furnish as part of its tender, a tender security in the amount of USD. 2,000,000 in the form specified in the tender document.

1.7       Completed tender documents shall be submitted in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked with the Tender number and Title addressed to:
