KERIO VALLEY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (KVDA)

 

INVITATION TO BIDS

Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) is a corporate legal entity, under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources. The Authority operates within the North Rift. The Authority wish to invite interested eligible contractors to apply for the following tenders:

1. TENDER No: KVDA/29/2013-2014

 

PROJECT: REHABILITATION AND EXTENSION OF MARICH IRRIGATION SCHEME

The Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA), has received funds from Kenya Italy Debt for Development Programme (KIDDP) and intends to use part of these funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Rehabilitation and extension of Marich Irrigation Scheme in West Pokot County.

Eligible contractors for this tender should meet the following minimum conditions:

i)       Duly registered licensed Qualified Water Contractors for the year 2013-14, with the Ministry of Environment Water and Natural Resources in Water works in class ‘D’ and above and registered with National construction Authority (NCA).

ii)      Evidence of past experience in similar works of same nature and complexity in the previous three years,

iii)     Have certificate of incorporation as a company,

iv)     Have a tax compliance certificate,

v)      Evidence of audited books of accounts for the last 3 years.

 

The works involves but are not limited to the following:-

i)       Construction of an intake weir on Muruny River

 

ii)      Construction of sedimentation basin

 

iii)     Construction of conveyance pipeline

 

iv)     Construction of other related works as instructed

 

2. TENDER No.; KVDA/PRQ/30/2013-2014;

 

PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS FOR HIRE OF MACHINERY AND EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENT

 

Kerio Valley Development Authority intends to construct several Dams and Water Pans, within its jurisdiction, to be funded by the Government. To execute the works, KVDA will hire the under-listed, at existing Government rates on “As and When Required Basis”.

 

·          Bull dozers (D6 and 8)

·          Wheel loader

·          Compactor and

·          Excavator.

and wish to invite all eligible owners (either companies or individuals) willing to hire out the said machinery, to submit details of type of machinery, Plant operators qualification and other supporting evidences.

The complete set of tender documents can be obtained up on payment of non-refundable fees of Kshs. 1,000 per set of documents in cash or bankers cheque payable to Kerio Valley Development Authority.

The completed tender documents in plain sealed envelope clearly marked ‘Tender For Rehabilitation and Extension of Marich Irrigation Scheme’ and accompanied by a Bid Security (in form of a bank guarantee) of KShs. 500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Kenya Shillings) OR “Tender for Prequalification of Contractors for Hire of Machinery and Earth moving plants, and the respective Tender No. should be addressed and sent to:

Or, may be deposited in Tender Box situated on the 13th Floor, KVDA Plaza so as to be received on or before Tuesday, the 6th day of February, 2014 at 12.00 noon. Prices quoted should be in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for 120 days from the closing date of the tender.

The tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the Boardroom, KVDA Plaza 14th Floor in the presence of bidders or their representatives who may wish to attend. Late bids will be rejected.
