TENDER INVITATION NOTICE

 

The Judiciary through the Bungoma Law Courts invites tenders from contractors to carry out the following works;

ERECTION AND COMPLETION Of REGISTRY AND OFFICES AT BUNGOMA LAW COURTS IN BUNGOMA SOUTH DISTRICT BUNGOMA COUNTY

 

Interested and eligible contractors who are registered with NCA category 6 and above for general building works, (proof of registration required) may view/obtain tender documents from the Procurement office, Bungoma Law Courts during working hours upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ksh.1000 payable at the Kenya Commercial Bank, Bungoma Branch, Account No. 1106286618 and submit the banking slip to the Cash Office before 4:00pm weekdays only or in a bankers cheque payable to The Chief Magistrate – Bungoma Law Courts, upon which you’ll be issued with a receipt necessary to obtain the tender documents at the Procurement office, Bungoma Law Courts.

Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as minimum, supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation.

1.    Copy of current company registration/incorporation by the Registrar of Companies.

2.    Copy of Certificate of Registration from the National Construction Authority under Category NCA 6 and above for building works.

3.    Proof of similar works completed in the last 5 years giving details of clients who may be contacted for reference to confirm that the firm meets the prescribed experience requirement.

4.    Availability of qualified and experienced key personnel.

5.    Proof of sound financial standing (as demonstrated by certified and audited accounts for the last 2 years, bank statements and bank credit lines.)

6.    Availability of equipment and facilities and type of ownership

7.    Copy of valid tax compliance certificate issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority

8.    The bid bond of kshs. 100,000.00 must be in form of a bank guarantee from a reputable bank or an insurance company approved by PPOA

9.    Duly filled confidential business questionnaire

 

Furthermore, tenders from the following tenderers shall be considered non-responsive and hence subject to automatic dis-qualification:

 

i.     A Tender from a tenderer whose on-going project(s) is/are behind schedule and without any approved extension times it.   

 

ii. A Tender from tenderers with on-going projects exceeding 4 in number, regardless of the total value of the works

iii.   A Tender from tenderers who have been served with a default notice on on-going project(s) or a tenderer who has been terminated in a Government Contract in the past

Tenders in plain sealed envelopes, marked Tender No. JUD/BGM/001/2013-2014 on the right hand side corner and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:

and placed in the Tender Box outside the Cash Office – Bungoma Law Courts, or sent by post so as to reach the above address on or before 17th March 2014 at 10.00 am.

Submitted bids will be opened publicly in a designated Courtroom soon after the above stated closing date and time in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids will be returned unopened.

Prices quoted must be net inclusive of VAT and all government taxes and must remain valid for 120 (one hundred and twenty) days from the opening date of the tender.

The bid security, which must be from an established bank or an Insurance company approved by PPOA, shall be valid for 150 (one hundred and fifty) days from the tender opening date.
