World’s leader in high efficiency power sytems, Eltek is the latest to set camp in the country. The company has opened a new office in Nairobi so as to provide sales and after-sales technical services to its clients. It follows other multinational companies like Samsung, Huawei among others who have set base in the country already.
Etelek carries out its business through two main companies and their subsidiaries: Eltek (power systems) and Nera Telecommunications (telecom and datacom). Nera Telecommunications, owned 50.1 percent by Eltek- supplies microwave transmission systems for telecommunications infrastructure, as well as information and communication systems. Eltek deals with high-efficiency power electronics and energy conversion.
The firm recorded over 40 per cent growth last year following sale of high efficiency DC power systems in Africa. The move to open a shop in Nairobi will help support increased sales in Eastern and Southern African countries as well as a major breakthrough in its plans to become the number one supplier in the region.
