TENDER NOTICE

Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Transport & Infrastructure established by the Kenya Roads Act, 2007 with the core mandate of management, development and maintenance of all public roads in cities and municipalities in Kenya except where those roads are national roads. As a leading Government Agency with the above mandate, KURA wishes to invite bids from Road Construction Companies registered with the National Construction Authority in category as indicated below:-

TENDER DESCRIPTION: Upgrading of Chuka Town Roads

FUNDING: Fuel Levy

CATEGORY: 2,3 & 4

MANDATORY PRE-TENEDER SITE MEETING VENUE: At the site of District Commissioner’s office in Chuka Town

DATE & TIME: Tuesday 4th March, 2014 At 10.00A.M.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the tender documents at the procurement office, situated at the Kenya Urban Roads Authority Headquarters I KM Place, First Floor 5th Ngong Avenue Nairobi during normal working hours upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) for each document in form of a Bankers Cheque payable to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority. The same information can be accessed from our website www.kura.go.ke/Adverts. Bidders who had bought previously advertised tenders will be issued with tender documents free of charge upon producing the official receipt.

Bidders who will have purchased documents will be required to attach a copy of an official receipt as proof of payment. For those who will download the document, they will be required to provide their details by registering at Procurement office Headquarters IKM Place, First Floor 5th Ngong Avenue Nairobi immediately after the site visit.

Mandatory Requirements

•   Certified copy of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation

•   Certified Copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate

•   Certified copy of registration certificate with the National Construction Authority

•   Certified Copy of Recent CR12 Form(12 Month) from Registration of company

NB. Certification must be by a commissioner of oath

The criteria of evaluation of bids

The criteria shall be as described in the tender documents.

Description of Works

The description and scope of works is as described in the tender documents.

Mandatory site visits shall be held on the date, venue and time as per the schedule above.

Prices quoted should include all taxes and must be expressed in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for a period of 120 days from the date of tender opening. Completed tender documents enclosed in separate plain sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the respective Tender Number and Tender Name should be addressed to:

Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids will not be accepted.
