RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AUTHORITY

INVITATION TO TENDER

Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Solar PV Systems

ADDENDUM  NO 2. FOR TENDER NO. REA/2013-2014/NT/050.

REA wishes to inform potential bidders that the lots have been reduced from 27NO. to 17NO. Please refer to the following website www.rea.co.ke for details of the revised lots. .

Note;

7.   A bidder shall be awarded a maximum of one Lot where the bidder is least evaluated.

2.     The number of lots allocated for youth, women and persons with disabilities has been amended from SNo. Lots to 3No. Lots and are indicated in the revised tender document. All the other terms and conditions of the tender aforementioned remain as per the principal Tender Document apart from the revision of the lots.

3.     The new closing date for the tender is on 18th March 2014 at 10:00am

The Rural Electrification Authority invites tenders from interested companies to tender for the following works/services:

TENDER NO.: REA/2013-2014/NT/50

DESCRIPTION: Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Solar PV Systems to 374 No of. Primary Schools in Samburu,, Turkana, Wajir, Garissa, Mandera, Marsabit, lsiolo,Pokot, Tana River, Kitui and Lamu Counties

The schools are in 27 lots. Bidders are free to quote for all the lots. However a bidder shall be awarded A Maximum of One Lot where the bidder is least evaluated.

Interested bidders may inspect and download the tender document at www.rea.co.ke and submit the same free of charge. Bidders who choose to bid should register with the Procurement Department by submission of an application letter on their company letter head declaring their intention to bid in this tender.

Bidders are free to contact the office of the Manager, Procurement & Supplies on the 6th Floor: The Chancery, Valley Road Nairobi, during normal working days between 9.00 am – 12.30 pm and 2.00 -4.30 pm for any clarification regarding the tender. Bidders shall not contact or discuss any aspect of their tender with REA after closing date and before receipt of notification of award of tender or letters of regret as applicable. Any such contact shall lead to disqualification.

REA wishes to amend the tender as shown below:

Section C Bills of Quantities is amended as follows

1.        In Lot 20: Kitui South Constituency, delete the following schools; No 1 – Hatata Primary School, No 2 – Jasabu Primary School, No 3 – Basahargesa Primary School, No 4 -Kamaguru Primary School, No 5- Godia Primary School, and replace as follows: No 1 -Mesilya Primary School, No 2 – Windundu Primary School, No 3 – Kikwa Primary School, No 4- Ngunini Primary School, No 5 – Kanguli Primary School

2.        In Lot 25: Mandera North Constituency, delete the following schools; Nos 1,2, 4 and 6 reading Burjohn Primary School, Liban Girls Primary School, Porahey Primary School and Gofa Primary School respectively and replace with the following: No 1 – Quramathow Primary School; No. 2 – Issak Kora Primary School; No. 4 – Arda Agarsu Primary School, No. 6 – Sukela Tinfa Primary School.

3.        In Lot 27: Mandera North Constituency, delete the following schools; Nos 2 and 3 reading Kobandaqa Primary School and Qordobo Primary School respectively and replace with the following: No 2 – Jabi Bar Primary School; No. 3 – Marothilley Primary School

Note:

1.     A bidder shall be awarded A Maximum of One Lot where the bidder is least evaluated.

2.     All the other terms and conditions of the tenders aforementioned remain as per the principal Tender Document.

Completed tender documents are to be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes marked with Tender Name and Reference Number and be deposited in the Tender Box situated at the Rural Electrification Authority offices and be addressed to:

Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend at the Venue as Specified in the Instructions to Tenders.

NB: Five (5) Lots in this tender have exclusively been reserved for Youth, Persons with Disability and Women.
