Ngong Road to be dual carriage

The Japan International Co-operative Agency (JICA) has expressed interest in funding the first phase of the expansion of Ngong Road into a dual carriageway. The first phase is from the City Mortuary to Adams Arcade. The Government has also entered into fresh talks with the Chinese Government on funding the second phase to Karen Shopping centre and a third phase to Langata Road.

The China Export-Import Bank are financing the Southern, Eastern and Northern Nairobi bypasses all of which are being carried out by China Road and Bridge Corporation.  The payments are supported by a $14 million export credit guarantee from the Chinese Government.
