INVITATION FOR TENDERS FOR CONSULTANCY & RENOVATION SERVICES

Construction firm(s) for Renovation Works at MTRD Headquarters in Nairobi.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (the Ministry), intends to engage the services of:

(i)   Consultancy firm(s) to support Materials Testing and Research Department (MTRD) in prospecting and mapping of road construction materials in Machakos, Makueni, Tharaka/Nithi, Embu, Meru and Kitui counties.

(ii) Construction firm(s) for Renovation Works at MTRD Headquarters in Nairobi.

The Ministry therefore invites bids from eligible Consultants and Construction firms for the following consultancy and renovation services:

(i)      CME/RD/0O1/2013-2O14: Consultancy Services for Prospecting and Mapping Sources of Natural Materials/Gravel for Road Construction in Machakos, Makueni and Tharaka Nithi Counties;

(ii)     CME/RD/002/2013-2014: Consultancy Services for Prospecting and Mapping Sources of Hardstone Materials for Road Construction in Embu, Meru, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni and Tharaka/Nithi Counties; and,

(iii) CME/D/0O1/2013-2O14: Renovation Works at MTRD Headquarters in Nairobi.

Eligible Consultancy and Construction firms are requested to submit their tenders to provide the above mentioned services. Interested bidders MUST meet the following qualification criteria as per Request for Proposal (RFP) and Tender documents:

(i)      Adequate financial capacity

(ii)     Adequate equipment and key personnel for works

(rii) Valid tax compliance certificate

(iv)    Other relevant certificates

(v)     Disclosure of company litigation history.

(vi)    In addition eligible bidders for Tender No. CME/D/0O1/2O13-20T4 must be registered with National Construction Authority category 5 and 6 for Building works.

Detailed information is contained in the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and Tender documents which can be obtained during official working hours from Chief Engineer (Materials) office, Machakos Road, upon payment of Kshs. 1,000, from 8 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Eligible firms are requested to submit their duly completed tenders in plain sealed envelopes marked with relevant Consultancy Service and/or Renovation works, as appropriate and addressed to:

All tenders should be deposited in the tender box situated at the Reception on the ground floor at the above address on or before 12:00 Noon, on Monday 27th January, 2014.

The tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the Conference Room on 1st floor at Materials Testing & Research Department Headquarters, Machakos Road, Industrial Area, Nairobi, in the presence of Bidders and or representatives who may choose to attend.
