REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY FROM MOMBASA TO NAIROBI, KENYA, AND PROCUREMENT AND INSTALLATION OF FACILITIES, LOCOMOTIVES AND ROLLING STOCK.

Kenya Railways is a State Corporation (KRC) established under Kenya Railways Corporation Act (Cap 397) of the Laws of Kenya.
Pursuant to its mandate to develop and operate railways in the country and in line with its Strategic Plan and vision 2030, the Corporation intends to develop high capacity, high speed standard gauge railway from the port of Mombasa to Nairobi. In this regard, the Corporation will engage Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor to deliver a turnkey project for the civil works, track works and procurement and installation of facilities, locomotives and rolling stock.
KR now invites proposals from qualified consulting firms for the following services: Consultancy Services for Design Review and Construction Supervision for the Construction of a Standard Gauge Railway from Mombasa to Nairobi, Kenya, and procurement and installation of facilities, locomotives and rolling stock.
Interested eligible consultants may view/obtain further information or download the RFP documents from KR’s website: www.krc.co.ke/procurement starting from Wednesday 24th July 2013. Completed RFP documents in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked with the Tender No’ and the “Description of the Tender” shall be addressed to:

and be deposited in the Tender Box in the office of The Procurement Manager, Kenya Railways Headquarters, Block C 1st Floor, Workshops Road – off Haile Selassie Avenue on or before 12.00 noon East African Time on Thursday 29th August 2013. The RFP documents will be opened thereafter in the presence of the tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend at the Kenya Railways Headquarters, Block C, 1st Floor Conference Room.
