UGANDA GRID – BASED OBA FACILITY: CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO ENHANCE CONNECTIONS TO POOR HOUSEHOLDS IN SELECTED RURAL ELECTRICITY PROJECTS

PROCUREMENT REFERENCE NUMBER: REA / SRVCS/12-13/00395

1. The Government of Uganda has received funding from German Financial Cooperation (KfW) and intends to apply part of the funds towards payments under the contract for Consultancy services to Enhance Connections to Poor Households in Selected Rural Electrification projects.

2. The Rural Electrification Agency invites sealed bids from eligible bidders to provide Consultancy Services to Enhance Connections to Poor Households in Selected Rural Electrification Projects.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with KfW Procurement Guidelines for eth Assignment for Consultants, and is open to al bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Rural Electrification Agency and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below in 8(a).

5. Complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address below at 8(b) and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Uganda Shillings 100, 000/. The method of payment will be by cash at the Agency Accounts Offices and an official receipt issued.

6. A pre-bid meeting shall be held on 2nd August 2013 at 10. 0am (LOCAL TIME) at REA offices as indicated in 8 (a) below. Potential bides are encouraged to attend the pre bid meeting.

7. Bids must be delivered tot eh address below at 8 (c) at or before 11. 00 am (local time) on the September 2013. All bids must e accompanied by a tender guarantee of USD 7. 000 (United States Dollars Seen Thousand only). Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 8(d) on 89th September 2013 at 11. 15 am (LOCAL TIME).

pre-bid meeting; 2nd August 2013

bid closing date; 9th September 2013

evaluation process; Within 14 working days form Bid closing date

display and communication of best evaluated bidder; within 5 working days form contracts committee approval of the evaluation report / contract award recommendation

contract award and signature; after expiry of the best evaluated bidder notice and SGs clearance

The Rural Electrification Agency is not bound to accept any bid
