INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)
PROJECT: ITARE DAM WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

IFB TITLE & NO: SPECIALIST CONTRACTING SERVICES FOR GEO-TECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS
CONTRACT NO: RVWSB/AD/GEOTECH/11

1. The Rift Valley Water Services Board, a parastatal under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, now invites sealed bids form eligible and qualified Bidders for Specialist Contracting services for Geotechnical investigations Contract No. RVWSB/AD/GETECH/11. The works include, but are not limited to; drillings boreholes with a without core recovery, testing preliminary of drilled holes (Packer Tests), rest grouting of the drilled boreholes and Vertical Electrical Soundings (VES). The project duration is 2 months.
2. Biding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB).
 
3. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information for the address given below form 0800 hours to 1700 local time form Monday to Friday, except during lunch hour (13000 hours to 1400 hours local time from Monday to Friday, except during lunch hour (1300 hours to 14000 hours) during weekdays and public holidays.
 
4. A complete set bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Kshs. 5, 000 (Kenya shillings Five thousand only) or equivalent in freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or bankers cheque. The Bidding documents will be collected from the address below upon production of a purchase receipt.
 
5. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1200 hours East Africa time on 5th October 2012. Electronic biding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened physically in the presence of the Bidders Representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 1205 hours East Africa time on 5th October 2012.
 
6. All bids shall be valid for 119 days up to 1st February 2013 and shall be accompanied by a bid security of KShs. 1, 200, 000 (Kenya shillings One Million Two hundred Thousand Shillings only) (or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency) which shall remain valid for valid for a further 28 days beyond the bid validity period i.e. up to 1st march 2013.
