The Engineering Students’ Association (E.S.A), of University of Nairobi, will this year hold its annual dinner on the 5th October, 2013 at the Sarova Panafric Hotel. The event is dubbed ‘Acknowledging Kenya’s technological renaissance and the university’s role in it.’
E.S.A plans to use this dinner as an interaction forum for the students and the industry professionals. The annual dinner is an avenue through which companies, organizations and students get to interact and network with each other and share opinions on the various successes and challenges of the profession. The event highlights and acknowledges the effort of various stakeholders to put engineering students in the lead.
The event allows the company attendees to meet and network with talented graduates and strengthen their employer branding with students of the university as well as UoN alumni and other professions. It promotes networking, Direct Contact, Sales and marketing and Company Branding.
The event is open to sponsors ranging from Gold sponsors, Silver Sponsors to corporate ones each with luring incentives as per the package not limited to the above mentioned; at Ksh200, 000, Ksh150, 000 and Ksh50, 000 respectively.
The Services that come with sponsoring this event are: exposure to E.S.A Magazine and website, The Student Engineer-A quarterly issued publication of E.S.A that allows student bodies in all the universities in Kenya to interact which also allows contributions from key industry players; Corporate Talks and seminars which calls for different companies giving lectures about their company or on a topic of their choice; Career Fair and Innovation week which is a promising project still in its early stages, the career fair and innovation week is brought about to enable corporate to showcase to students new ideas/ projects that may have come up and vice versa.
Not forgetting, Team Building Activities like: the Annual Sports Day aimed at enhancing team work,E.S.A Cultural week and Beauty Contest- a week set aside for the students to showcase their culture and tradition through dressing, art and storytelling and climax of a a beauty contest to crown Mr. & Miss Engineering 2013/2014.
There’s also Community Outreach-a project aimed at giving back to the community. This year, in conjunction with BADILIQA, E.S.A plans to clean and paint Central Police Station as well as visit more high schools to mentor the teens.
Lastly, Industrial Attachments which are aimed at enabling students to gain hands-on experience and knowledge, E.S.A endeavors to ease the process of acquiring internships for the talented pool of engineering students through partnerships with companies and organizations.
The profile of visitors will range from: VIPs, key decision makers, Government bodies, professionals, Engineering firms and consultants and engineering students.
