Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) and Danish Industry (DI) have signed a contract regarding development cooperation on the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA 2.0) in Kenya.
The partnership will see the DI and KEWI channel their focus on skills development and green technology within Wastewater, desalination and climate change. DI will come through for the program with a grant and technical aid that will help the institute implement the agreement.
While lauding the move, KEWI CEO Dr. Leiro Letangule, EBS said that the Institute was most thankful and was willing to implement its part of the agreement to ensure that its intended outcome is achieved.
“KEWI is keen to ensure that all programs with our partners are implemented to the end. On this particular program, we shall ensure that we deliver our part with utmost dedication to ensure that the overall goal is achieved.”
Klaus Lehn Christensen, DI East Africa Manager termed the partnership a timely once since it will help build on the success of the previous TVET program the entity had with the institute
” We are excited to build on top of our previous TVET Programme with KEWI, where we now include an enhanced focus on much needed skills development within waste water, desalination and climate change for water technicians and informal water sector workers,” he said.
The Programme which will see the institute get a grant of up to USD 75,000 will run for 18 months and will geographically focus on Kilifi, Nairobi and Nakuru counties.
