After continuous investment on the iPhone and the iPad, Apple is now diversifying its interest following an overthrow in the market by the Samsung’s Galaxy III earlier this year. In a recent event hosted by Apple Inc. the company unveiled their upgraded line of MacBook laptops with faster, new-generation Intel core processors and other features.

Among those unveiled was the MacBook Pro laptop which is about 7 inches thick and weighs less than 4.5 pounds, about the size and weight of a MacBook Air. The new “retina display” MacBook Pro measures 15.5 inches across and contains an Intel quad-core i7 processor. It will feature up to 16GB of memory and up to 768GB of internal flash storage.

“The new MacBook Pro is the most advanced Mac we have ever built,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Also unveiled were other MacBook Pros without high-res displays but with processors 60 per cent faster than current models. The 13-inch model and the 15-inch model. Their selling prices will depend on the storage space of each gadget.

They also introduced MacBook Air laptops with faster, new-generation Intel core processors. The MacBook Air type ranges from 11-inches to 14-inches which also determines their price. They will feature a 720p camera and new Ivy Bridge processors from Intel. An improvement in the storage space will be 8 GB of memory and 512 GB of flash storage

The new computer’s display is similar to the one in the company’s newest iPad. It becomes the highest-resolution display of any notebook, or simple laptop, on the market. The battery life will last up to 7 hours of battery life,

Apple is also equipping its Siri feature with new databases of knowledge, including the ability to retrieve sports scores. Siri will be able to open an app for you, search movie showtimes, post Facebook updates, make restaurant reservations and provide turn-by-turn navigation to drivers with Apple’s new maps application.
