CEO Titus Naikuni said the additional aircraft was in tune with the airline’s strategy to increase the level of efficiency across the network by offering passengers more convenience.
With the additional B737, Kenya Airways fleet is now at 30 aircraft. The airline has placed orders for two Embaraer 190 aircraft expected to be delivered early next year. They have a seating capacity of 127 in economy and 10 in the business class configuration.
“The airline has enhanced its operations through capacity increase, introduction of new destinations, staff training, improved connectivity and enhanced crew and aircraft utilization,” Mr Naikuni said.
The airline has embarked on an aggressive network expansion program to cater for the growing customer needs. The route expansion has been accompanied by fleet modernization commitment to safety and the growing aviation standards in the continent.
“Our main goal it to interconnect Africa and link it to the rest of the world,” sad Mr Naikuni.
