CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM AND SANITATION FACILITIES FOR KEROKA AND ISEBANIA TOWNS

TENDER NO. LVSWSB/T/12/2013-2014

1.      This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. Issue No. is 792 of 16 February 2011.

2.      The Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB) through the East African Community (EAC) has received a Grant from the African Development Fund in various currencies towards the Lake Victoria Water Supply and Sanitation Program, Phase Two (LVWATSAN II), for Kericho, Keroka and Isebania Towns and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the Grant to cover eligible payments under the contracts for Construction of water supply system and sanitation facilities for Keroka and Isebania Towns.

3.      The LVSWSB, a Parastatal under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources of the Government of Kenya, now invites sealed bids from prospective bidders for the Construction of water supply system and sanitation facilities for Keroka and Isebania Towns. (Tender No. LVSWSB/T/12/2013-2014).

4.      Complete set of bidding documents, in soft copy (CD), may be purchased by interested bidders from LVSWSB, Procurement Office, Lavictors House off Ring Road Milimani, Kisumu Tel. No. +254-57-2025128, Fax No. +254-57-2025127, Email: info@lvswaterboard.go.ke upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kenya Shillings 1,000.00 (One Thousand Only) for each set in the form of a banker’s cheque. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the same address.

5.      Bidders may also download the bidding document from LVSWSB website( www.lvswaterboard.go.ke) free of charge. Upon downloading, bidders are required to immediately send/email their names and contact details (including physical address) to the Procurement Manager – procurement@lvswaterboard.go.ke and copy to procurement2@lvswaterboard.go.ke

6.      The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.

7.      Bids must be delivered to the Tender Box situated on the 1st  Floor reception area of LVSWSB offices at Lavictors House on or before 10.00 am local time on 27th February 2014 and must be accompanied by a bid security of KES 5,000,000 (Five Million) in an acceptable form or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency

8.      Bidders are invited for a Pre-Tender Conference to be held at the Gusii Water Company offices in Kisii Town, on 28th January 2014, starting at 10.00 am for any clarifications before bidding. Afterwards, site visits shall be organized to the proposed sites in Keroka Town the same day (28th January 2014) from 12.00 pm. Visit to the proposed sites at Isebania Town will take place on 29th January 2014 starting at 10.00 am.

9.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10.00 am local time on 27th February 2014 at LVSWSB offices at Lavictors House off Ring Road Milimani, Conference Room A 1st Floor.

10.    Late Bids will be rejected.
