Invitation for Pre-qualification

FOR

BID NO: BID NO: ME-011/2013-2014/W/01 FOR THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF OFFICE BUILDING FOR MINISTRY OF WATER (MAJI HOUSE) AT UBUNGO – DAR ES SALAAM

1) This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in the WB 320 – 696/07 of January 17th, 2007,

2) The Ministry of Water has set aside funds towards the cost of the Water Sector Development Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this fund to payments under the contract for financing of Construction of Ministry of Water Office Building (MAJI HOUSE) and associated External Works including Services installations, at Ubungo -Dar es Salaam.

3) The Ministry of Water intends to pre-qualify contractors and/or firms for Construction of Ministry of Water Office Building (MAJI HOUSE) and associated External Works including Services installations, at Ubungo – Dar es Salaam. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in October, 2013

4) Pre-qualification will be conducted through the procedures specified in Regulation 15 of the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non-Consultant Services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations, 2005 – Government Notice 97 of 15th April 2005, and is open to all firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures.

5) Interested applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at the office of the

6) A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants and voluntarily formed joint ventures on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Tshs 100,000 (Tanzania Shillings One Hundred Thousand Only). Payment should either be in Cash, or Banker’s Cheque, payable to Permanent Secretary Ministry of Water.

7) Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 10.00 local hours on FRIDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER, 2013 and be clearly marked “Application to BID NO: ME-011/2013-2014/W/01 Pre-qualify for Proposed Construction of the office building (MAJI HOUSE) and associated External Works including Services installations, for the Ministry of Water at Ubungo -Dares Salaam.
