EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

FOR LAND SURVEYING SERVICES

Background

Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen), is a limited liability company I 70% owned by the Government of Kenya. It is the leading electric power generation 1 company in Kenya, producing about 80% of the electricity used in the Country. It has a total installed capacity of 1,200MW and power plants located at different power parts of the country.

Consistent with its mission to efficiently generate competitively priced electrical energy using state of the art technology, skilled and motivated human resource, the Company intends to engage the services of a consultancy firm to provide land surveying services.

Objective

The purpose of this notice is to seek expression of interest from suitable firms to be short listed for the land surveying consultancy services. Such short listed firms will be invited to submit both technical and financial proposals. It is intended that the invitation for the bids will be made after shortlisting.

Eligibility

The consultant shall bid for the assignment individually or in association with other firms. The expression of interest must be accompanied by the consultant’s qualifications, capabilities and details of past experience in the area of land survey,

Name(s) of firm(s) that will participate in undertaking the consulting services and their role in all aspects of the consultancy service together with name(s) and position(s) of authorized representatives.

Evaluation Criteria

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to successfully undertake survey assignments. Short listing of consultants will be based on the following:

• Registration with The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya and the Land Surveyors Registration Board

• Current practicing certificate

• The Team leader must have a minimum of five years’ experience

• Relevant references for the last five (5) years with a minimum of 10.

• Certificate of Good Standing from the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya

• Description of management / organization structure,

• List of key staff relevant to the assignment and their Curriculum Vitae inclusive of staff who will monitor and give backup services. Each must have a minimum experience of 3 years

• Evidence of incorporation in the country and other statutory registrations.

• Annual Accounts and Reports for the last two financial years

• Information regarding any current litigation involving the consulting firm.

• Tax compliance certificate

Note: all personnel involved shall have not less than three (3) years’ experience in the capacity they will serve in the assignment.

Clarifications

The interested parties may request for clarifications on this Pre-Qualification up to Ten (10) days before the Pre-Qualification submission date.

The study is expected to be completed within this year 2013.

Eol Submission

The Eol should be submitted in a sealed envelope by 1400 hours (Kenya time) Monday 5th.August 2013 to the following address:

The EOI documents will be opened at 14:30 hours on the same day in public on 7th floor, executive room, Stima Plaza III and bidders or their representatives are invited to attend.

Only firms prequalified under this procedure will be invited to submit their proposal. KenGen reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without obligation to assign any reason for the decision.
