INVITATION TO TENDER

Nairobi Housing Corporation is a statutory body established under the Housing ACT Cap 117 Laws of Kenya
The Corporation invites Tenders form eligible and registered of Building Contractors to tender for the following projects.
 

1.       TENDER FOR PROPOSED UNDERGROUND WATER TANK FOR EPS FACTORY – TENDER NO. NHC/TECH/342/2012
The works comprise of construction of 1 No. 96, 000. 00 liter capacity underground tank.
 
Mandatory requirements
•Bid bond is Kshs. 150, 000. 00
•Non refundable fee of Kshs. 5, 000. 00
•MOW Building category C and D only
 

2.       TENDER FOR PROPOSED OVERHEAD STEEL WATER TANK FOR EPS FACTORY MAVOKO – TENDER NO. NHC/TECH/343/2012
The works comprise supply and installation of 1 No. 80, 000-litre high-level steel water tank with steel tower and related pipe work.
Mandatory requirements
•Bid bond is Kshs. 150, 000. 00
•Non refundable fee of kshs. 5, 000. 00
•?Contractors experienced in erecting structural steel towers and water tanks, and registered with MOW or other Bodies
The detailed scope of works for the above projects is provided in the respective tender documents.
 
 Interested contractors who must be registered by the Ministry of works (MOW) and other bodies in categories as shown for each tender and who appears it the current Building Contractors Register (Proof of registration required) may obtain Tender documents from the Contracts office 8th floor – NHC House, upon payment of a non refundable tender collection fee as indicated for each tender evidence by an official receipt.  Payments shall be made in bankers cheques payable to National payable to National Housing Corporation of the cash office on the ground floor anytime between 08. 30 am and j03.30 pm on weekdays.  Bidders who participated in the earlier tender will be issued with the tender documents free of cost.
 
 Bidders should note that the documents and information listed below are the minimum requirements and must be accompanied by supporting documents, failure to which will render the Bid liable to automatic disqualification.
1)      Proof of current and past works f similar magnitude undertaken in the last three years.  Copies of award letters and practical completion certificate to be attached.
2)      Bid bond of amounts as indicated for each tender which must be in form of a Bank Guarantee only from a reputable Bank registered in Kenya and be valid for 150 days from the tender opening date.
3)      Valid Tax compliance certificate.
 
 In addition, Bids from the following Bidders shall be treated as non responsive and will lead to automatic disqualification:
i)                    A bid form a Bidder whose on going project is / are behind schedule and without any approved extension of time.
ii)                   A bid form a Bidder who has bee served with a default notice form current projects or terminated previously
iii)                 A bid form a Bidder who is currently involved in two or more projects with the Corporation
Al Tender documents in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked the tender number and bearing no indication of the bidder should be addressed to:

And deposited in the Tender Box located on 7th floor NHC House or sent by courier or registered mail using the above address to be received on or before 10th September 2012 at 12. 00 pm.
 
 Tenders will be opened immediately on the same day in the Boardroom 10th floor NHC House in the presence of bidders representatives who choose to attend.  Any bid received after 12. 00 pm will be returned unopened.
 
The Corporation reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons and does not bind  itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
