Kenya Airways is set to receive boeing dreamliner 787 in the beginning of April. The plane will benefit the company through its unique features as it is set to replace the B767 plane.
Boeing 787 is fuel efficient airliner and it is the world’s first major airliner to use composite materials as he primary material in the construction of its airframe. It contains electrical flight systems, a four panel windshield, noise –reducing chevrons on its engine and a smooth nose contour.It can accommodate between 210-250 passengers on routes ranging from 14,200km-15,200km.
It is made of a light-weight construction as it is built with 50% composite, 20% aluminium, 15% titanium, 10%steel and 5% other.
The 787 features two engines; these engines use all-electrical bleedless systems, eliminating the superheated air conduits normally used for aircraft power, de-icing, and other functions. Boeing 787 engine has a noise-reducing technology for the 787.
