The second and third sessions of the Engineers International Conference went on after the lunch break at the Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu on Wednesday. Both sessions were chaired by Lady Engineer Rosemary Kung’u. Session two was on Governance and education and featured presentations on ; •IEK Disciplinary Rules, Dispute resolution rules and Procedures for appointment of Arbitrators and Adjudicators presented by Eng. Okelo •The challenges of manpower development in Kenya with respect to Implementation of the Engineers Act presented by Eng G.M Arasa. •Engineering Education Challenges and Opportunities in Kenyatta University, presented by Eng. Martin Nzomo. •Public Procurement in Counties: Responsibilities and controls presented by M.J. Juma Session three on the other hand was on Food Production and Irrigation and featured the following presentations: •Effects of Climate change in Food production in Kenya and Adaptation Measures presented by Eng. Mwamzali Shiribwa •Adapting System Of Rice Intensification in West Kenya Irrigation schemes •Micro Irrigation; An Integrated Water management Solution For Kenya The conference continued on day two with Session 4 on Transportation & Infrastructure being chaired by Eng. Grace Onyango. Session 5 on Research was chaired by Eng I.K.W Mutonyi, Session 6 on Adaptative Technologies and Innovative Design by Eng. R.K. Chepkwony.
