KENYA AIRPORTS AUTHORITY Tender: Design / Build Tender for construction of a domestic Passenger Terminal. Closing Date 24/05/2013 KENYA AIRPORTS AUTHORITY INTERNATIONAL TENDER NOTICE TENDER NO. REFP NO: KKA/ES/JKIA/837/B Tender Name: Design / Build Tender for construction of a domestic Passenger Terminal. 1.1 The Kenya Airports Authority intends to enhance its Passenger Handling Capacity and improve on the efficiency of hub operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport through construction of a new Domestic Passenger Terminal. 1.2 The New Passenger Terminal shall be a new terminal building with floor area of about 8, 000 square meters on two levels. It shall be constructed of prefabricated wall panel, quick erect steel / aluminum frames and insulated roof panels with aesthetical acoustic ceiling. Among other facilities, it will have 26 domestic checks in positions; 4 remote gates lounges and all associated utilities. 1.3 The terminal shall be supplied complete with all equipment necessary to operate the terminal in accordance with the Term of Reference. 1.4 The Kenya Airports authority invites tenders from eligible candidates for design, construction of the terminal building, supply and installation, testing, commissioning and handing over of the Domestic Terminal to the Authority. 1.5 Eligible candidates shall meet the following minimum requirements: i) Shall be an entity legally incorporated in the country of domicile or a venture linking such entities for purposes of carrying out and completing the works in this Tender. ii) Shall provide evidence of have carried and completed at least 1 No similar sized Airport projects in the last ten (10) years iii) Shall meet minimum average annual construction turnover of US$ 30 million or equivalent in other currencies for the entity or for the lead firm. The turnover shall be calculated as total certified payments received for construction contracts in progress or completed, within the last five (5) years 1.6 Eligible candidates may obtain further information and inspect the tender documents at Kenya Airport Authority Headquarters at the address given below. 1.7 Complete tender documents may be obtained by any interested tenderer on submission of a written application and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Kshs. 500. 0 payable to the Keya Airports Authority. Payments will be to the cashier on first floor at Kenya Airports Authority Headquarters by cash or bankers cheque payable to the Managing Director Kenya Airports Authority. Candidates are advised that the fee does not included postage charges and are strongly advised to arrange for direct collection of the tender documents at the procurement office 2nd floor of the same building on production of payments receipt. 1.8 A pretender site meeting will be on 30th April 2013 at KAA 5TH floor conference room 11. 00 AM. 1.9 Completed tenders should be submitted accompanied by a tender security issued by a reputable bank or insurance company in the amount of USD one million five hundred (1, 500, 000) to be received on or before the bid submission date, in bankers cheque or demand guarantee to be paid in favor of Kenya Airports Authority. Failure to provide tender security will lead to disqualification of the tender. 1.10 Prices quoted shall be inclusive of VAT appliance duty and other taxes and shall remain valid for 120 days from the closing date of the tenders on 24th May 2013 at 11. 00 am. 1.11 Completed tender documents shall be submitted in one envelope clearly marked with the Tender number and name and marked “Do not open before 24th May 2013 at 11. 00 am local time. 1.12 The tenders will be opened immediately in the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend after the closing date and time which is on 24th may in the conference room, 5th floor KAA Headquarters at 11. 00am and evaluated in accordance with the evaluation procedure. 1.13 Dully completed tender documents in plain sealed envelope with tender number and title of the tender clearly indicated on the envelope shall be addressed to: Kenya Airports Authority P.
