CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR TOPOGRAPHICAL AND LIDAR MAPPING OF PROPOSED ROUTE CORRIDORS FOR ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION LINES
I. BACKGROUND
The Government of Kenya has rolled out plans to add more than 5000MW of Electrical Energy to the national grid by the year 2016The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) therefore intends to construct various transmission lines to evacuate this power and strengthen the national grid.
In order to achieve this objective, KETRACO needs to have the route corridors of the proposed lines precisely mapped out and therefore intends to engage the services of survey and mapping consultants to provide the services.
KETRACO now invites eligible consultants to submit Proposals for providing the consultancy services. Interested consultants must provide relevant information and documents, as specified in the Request for Proposal Document, indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. They must demonstrate technical capability to undertake the assignment and provide proof of having conducted assignments of similar nature and magnitude and under similar conditions in line with the criteria set in the Request for Proposal.

The RFP document may be obtained from Supply Chain Management Office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000.00 at KETRACO Cash Office.
Bids in sealed envelope marked; TENDER NUMBER KETRACO/PT/002/2014 “REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR TOPOGRAPHICAL AND LIDAR MAPPING OF ROUTE CORRIDORS FOR THE PROPOSED TRANSMISSION LINES” must be delivered to the following address by 18th February 2014 at 10.00 am.
