TENDER NOTICE

The Mandera County Government invites tenders from registered Building Works Contractors in Category “NCA7 “or above for

TENDER NO: CGM/T/19/2013-2014 FOR THE PROPOSED REFURBISHMENT OF THE OLD DC’S HOUSE FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICIAL RESIDENCE AND RELATED WORKS

Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as a minimum and supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation:-

1.Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years.

2.The Bid Bond must be in form of Bank Guarantee from a reputable bank or approved Insurance Company.

3.Proof of adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works.

4.Proof of sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit.

5.Litigation History of the Company (both court and litigation cases (if any)

6.Confidential Business Questionnaire.

7.Tax Compliance Certificate.

Further, tenders from the following tenderers shall be considered NON-RESPONSIVE and therefore subject to automatic disqualification:

i.   A tenderer whose on-going project(s) is/are behind schedule and without any approved extension of time.

ii.  A tenderer who has been served with a default notice on on-going project(s) or terminated in previous projects.

iii.A tenderer whose tender sum is plus or minus 10% of the Official Estimate.

Interested bidders may obtain tender documents from the Mandera County Government Headquarters upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.3000.00 in cash or bankers’ cheque payable to Mandera County Government at the Cash Office before 4.00pm on normal working days. The Bid Bond for the Works will be Kshs.200, 000.00.

The completed bids in plain sealed envelope marked with tender reference number should be addressed to:

or placed in the Tender Box located at the Mandera County Government Headquarters, so as to reach on or before 12th August 2013 at 10.00 a.m, and shall be opened the same day in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to be present. Late bids will be returned unopened.

The Mandera County Government reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
