The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KENIA) has set aside a Ksh6 million fund to award outstanding innovators. The fund will see innovators get an attractive cash prize of up to Ksh1 million.
The agency is giving out the amount to any innovator from Agriculture and Natural Resources, Energy and Manufacturing, Health, Water and Sanitation and Information Communication and Technology who shows exemplary innovation and invention in the upcoming competition.
The statutory body established under the Science, Technology and Innovation Act said the national innovation award competition is a strategy to motivate and recognise outstanding innovators in Kenya.
In a paid up advert in the media, the agency secretariat stated that the first runner up in all the selected categories will be awarded a cash price Ksh0.5 million bringing the total amount to Ksh6 million.
The competition is meant to encourage innovation in all national areas so as to strengthen innovative capacity.
Interested innovators to download the application forms from http://www.innovationagency.go.ke or http://www.education.go.ke or dully filled forms to be submitted to KENIA offices at Utalii House 9th floor or email soft copies of the same to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before 5.00 p.m. 23rd December 2016.
