The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) will from tomorrow be holding a three day International Conference at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu. The conference themed “Innovative Engineering Solutions for Industrialization” is the 20th the institution is holding. “The Institution of Engineers of Kenya has taken cognizance of the fact that Engineers must sustain the spirit of innovation in order for this country to remain relevant in the global economy”, notes the IEK chairman,J.M Riungu in a statement. Last year’s conference was held at the KICC with the theme “Role of Engineering Practitioners in the mplementation of the Constitution”. The conference is expected to draw engineering practitioners from different fields in the industry, senior government officials as well as engineering firms. During the three day event, guests are involved in discussion and presentation sessions. There is also an AGM meeting held by the IEK officials and a dinner is held on the last night of the whole event. Last year’s event saw to the election of a new chairman for the institution, J.M Riungu as well as other members of the council.
