The Technical University of Kenya now invites tenders from eligible candidates for the provision of specialized subcontract works as detailed below.

Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information for and / or inspect the tender documents from the Procurement office, the Technical University of Kenya College, P. O. Box 52428 – 00200 Nairobi, during normal working hours 8.30 AM – 4. 30 PM (Monday to Friday)

A complete set of tender documents can be obtained by interested eligible candidates upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Kenya Shillings 3, 000 per set for each tender in cash or bankers cheque payable to the Technical University of Kenya. Payment may be made the cash office, Administration Block, Ground floor.

Mandatory Requirements: Interested eligible bidders should note that only those meeting the minimum criteria indicated below supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation.

1. Proof of works of similar proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the relevant trade

2. Category of registration with Ministry of Public Works in the relevant trade

3. Class of licenses with relevant statutory bodies

4. Proof of payments for tender documents

5. Provision of Bid security

6. Duly filled form of tender

7. Adequate equipment and key personnel for specified types of works

8. Audited financial report for the last years & sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line

9. Copy of PIN certificate

10. Tax Compliance certificate

11. Familiarity to similar works in the past

12. Complaint to statutory deductions including NSSF and NHIF

13. Evidence of ongoing works

The completed tender document in plain sealed envelopes, clearly marked with tender reference number and accompanied by a bid security of 1% in the form of a bank guarantee from, a reputable bank or an insurance firm approved by PPOA and must be valid for 120 days after the opening of the tender should be addressed and sent to:-

Or may be deposited in the Tender box situated on the first floor, administration block, next to the Conference Room of the Technical University of Kenya, so as to be received on or before 30th May 2013 at 10. 00 am. Prices quoted should be net inclusive of all taxes and delivery and shall remain valid for 120 days from the closing date of the tender.

The tenders will be opened immediately at the Technical University of Kenya Conference room in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who may wish to attend. Late bids will be returned unopened.

The university reserves the right to accept or reject any tender in part or in whole and annul the tendering process at any time prior to contract award without thereby incurring any liability aid is not bound to give reasons for its decisions.
