In a significant step toward fortifying data security in the face of rapidly advancing cyber threats, VentureOne, the commercialization arm of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), has launched QuantumGate. The new venture, introduced at CyberQ in Abu Dhabi, aims to provide organizations with a robust suite of data security products designed to protect data assets in the quantum era.
H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of ATRC, emphasized the urgency of preparing for quantum-era cybersecurity challenges: “The quantum era isn’t a distant threat—it is here. The launch of QuantumGate is a pivotal step in safeguarding invaluable data assets against ever-increasing cybersecurity threats. QuantumGate’s sovereign solutions will ensure our country’s and our organizations’ sensitive information stays safe.”
Addressing Imminent Risks with Quantum-Ready Solutions
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute, highlighted the impending risks: “Cryptographic algorithms are used by virtually all organizations to encrypt and protect data. But advancements in quantum computing will render many of them obsolete in as little as five to 10 years. Even with current security measures, bad actors can collect and store organizational data to decrypt it later, when quantum computers are more widely available. This means the risk is imminent—organizational data is already at risk.”
QuantumGate’s suite of data security products is built on proprietary technology developed by the experts at Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute. The tools aim to shield data assets from current and emerging threats while ensuring compliance with upcoming cryptographic regulations. The suite includes:
- QSphere: A comprehensive solution featuring a post-quantum VPN and applications for the encryption and decryption of emails, files, and text.
- Salina: An identity and access management tool that simplifies authentication by eliminating the need for passwords.
Preparing for a Post-Quantum Future
Reda Nidhakou, Acting CEO of VentureOne, emphasized the importance of proactive action: “With recent advancements in quantum computing, it is obvious to all security professionals that today’s crypto solutions will soon be seriously challenged. To prevent catastrophic losses, it’s critical for sensitive businesses to transition now to post-quantum security systems. Our mission is to make this process as seamless as possible through resilient, agile, state-of-the-art solutions.”
Beyond its product offerings, QuantumGate will also provide advisory services to help organizations transition from classical to post-quantum cryptography, ensuring minimal operational disruptions.
Expanding the Horizon of Technological Innovation
QuantumGate marks the third major venture launched by VentureOne. The company has been actively expanding its influence in tech innovation, with SteerAI, an autonomous mobility technology provider, launched in October 2024, and AI71, a business solutions firm utilizing Falcon generative AI models, launched in 2023.
QuantumGate’s launch underscores ATRC’s and VentureOne’s commitment to pioneering solutions that anticipate and address technological and cybersecurity challenges, positioning Abu Dhabi as a leader in advanced technological research and development.
