NATIONAL TENDER NOTICE

TENDER NO. LVEMPII/T/7/2013-2014

Rehabilitation Of Sewerage Systems For Kisumu, Homa Bay & Bomet

1.The Government of Kenya received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of the second phase of the Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMPII) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit for expansion of Kisumu sewerage systems, rehabilitation and augmentation of HomaBay sewerage systems and construction of Bomet sewerage system.

2.The Government of Kenya/Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project II (LVEMP II) now invites sealed Tenders

from eligible bidders for the following:

Lot 1: Expansion of Kisumu Sewerage System – whose components in the scope of works includes supply of all materials required for and the construction and or installation of:-

Wastewater System

i.   Two No. Primary Sedimentation Tank

ii. Two No. Secondary Sedimentation Tank

iii.Two No. Filter Drains

iv.Two No. Sludge Tank

v.  Utility buildings at wastewater treatment works site

vi.Trunk sewer mains of DN225 to DN600 for about 35km including manholes

vii.One No. Pumping stations

Lot 2: Rehabilitation and Augmentation of HomaBay Sewerage System – whose components in the scope of works includes supply of all materials required for and the rehabilitation/construction and or installation of:-

i.    Pre-treatment unit

ii.  Anaerobic ponds

iii.Settling tanks

iv.Maturation ponds

v.   Outfall sewer to Lake •vi.   Sludge thickening tank

vii.Sludge pumping station

viii.Sludge drying beds _

Lot 3: Construction of Bomet sewerage system- whose components in the scope of works includes supply of all materials required for and the rehabilitation/construction and or installation of :-

i. Anaerobic ponds

ii.Facultative ponds

iii.Maturation ponds

iv.Faecal califorms

v.  Manholes and pipework

vi.Waste stabilization ponds

3.Interested firms may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 0830 to 1700 hrs local time on Mondays to Fridays.

4.Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all qualified and eligible bidders for works under Category/ Class B and above and meet the conditions of Tender as provided in tender documents.

5.A complete set of tender documents maybe collected from LVEMP II office located at Re-insurance Plaza during normal working hours upon payment of non refundable fee of Kshs 5,000 (Five thousand only) in cash or banker’s cheque from reputable banks in Kenya, to Lake Victoria Env-Man Project, Account No.0108093570904, Standard Chartered Bank, Kenyatta Avenue Branch, Kisumu.

6.Sealed bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 10:00 hrs Kenyan Time of 29th November, 2013 at the tender box located on the 2nd Floor of Re-insurance Plaza, Kisumu, and must be accompanied by bid securities as

follows:

Lot I: Kshs. 2,200.000.00

Lot 2: Kshs. 4,200,000.00

Lot 3: Kshs. 560,000.00

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

7.The works under this tender will be let on lot basis. The period of construction of the works is designated as 7 months from the date of commencement.

8.The Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project II is not bound to accept the lowest or any of the tenders it receives.
