INVITATION TO TENDER

TENDERNAME: PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A FEEDBLOCK PRODUCTION

PLANT AT THE KENYA AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE (KARI-KIBOS)

The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) has received a grant from the USAID/Kenya for support of a project under Strategic Objective Seven (S07), “Increase Rural Household Incomes” through applied agricultural research.

KARI wishes to utilize part of this grant to engage a contractor for the proposed construction of a Feed Block Production Plant at its offices in KARI Kibos and invites tenders for the Proposed Construction of a Feed Block Production Plant at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI -KIBOS)

•   Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information from and inspect the tender documents at the office of the Chief Supplies Officer, KARI Headquarters, Kaptagat Road, P.O. Box 57811-00200, Nairobi during normal office working hours.

•   A complete set of tender documents may be obtained by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES. 5,000.00 in cash or bankers cheque payable to The Director, KARI.

•   Prices quoted should be net; inclusive of all taxes, and delivery costs, must be in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for 90 days from the closing date of the tender.

•   Tenders must be accompanied by a bid security/bid bond of 2% of the total bid price in the form of a bank guarantee from a reputable bank as specified in the tender document.

•   Completed tender documents are to be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes, marked with the tender number and name and be deposited in the Tender Box situated at the entrance to the main building of KARI Headquarters on Kaptagat Road, Off Waiyaki Way on or before 20th September 2013 at 10.00 a.m. Bulky documents that cannot go through the slot of the Tender box may be delivered to KARI Headquarters, ground floor Room 151 on or before 20th September 2013 at 10.00 a.m. Late bids will be rejected.

Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at KARI Headquarters, Boardroom on 20th September 2013 at 10.00 a.m
