TENDER NOTICE

The County Government of Machakos wishes to invite interested bidders to apply for the following Tenders

(A) CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Rehabilitation of Degraded Rivers (construction of weirs, drifts and associated works) described below in the listed wards within Machakos County.

Interested bidders MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in category 5,6,7& 8.Bidders for Youth, Women and Persons with Disability must attach proof of Registration with the National Treasury or County Treasury in their respective preference group. Kindly note that 30% of the works has been reserved for Youth, Women and Persons With Disability.

The seedling should be at least 30 cm and above.

Kindly note that 30% of the works has been reserved for Youth, Women and Persons With Disability.

(C) TENDER NO GMC/EENR/HS/1 /2014-2015 SUPPLY, DELIVERY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF HYBRID
STREET LIGHT (SOLAR AND WIND) 134 PIECES [Reserve price 32 Million)

Bidders may examine and obtain detailed tender documents from the Department of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Mwatu wa Ngoma Road during normal working hours, upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only} per tender document. Payment shall be made to the Machakos County Tender Account, Account No. 1142999262, Kenya Commercial Bank, Machakos and the bank slip presented to the Cash Office, Ground Floor, Headquarters, Ngei Road, Machakos upon which an official receipt will be issued for presentation to the Department of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Mwatu wa Ngoma Road for issuance of document. A copy of the receipt should be attached to the tender document upon submission.

Qualification for Tendering (Mandatory)

The bidders are expected to include the following in their bids:-(a) Certified Copy of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation, (b) Certified Copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate.

Certified Copy of registration Certificate with the National Construction Authority. -i
Bid security in form of a bank guarantee or other acceptable security equivalent to 1 % of the tender sum and in the format specified in the tender document.

The criteria of evaluation of bids

The criteria shall be as described in the tender documents. Description of Works

The description and scope of works is as described in the tender documents.

Prices quoted should include all taxes and must be expressed in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for a period of 90 days from the date of tender opening.

Completed tender documents enclosed in separate plain sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the respective Tender Number and Tender Name should be addressed and sent to:

And be deposited in the tender box at the Department of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources on or beforeSEPTEMBER 8, 2014 at 11:00am and the opening will take place immediately thereafter in the presence of Bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids will not be accepted.

The County Government of Machakos reserves the right to accept or reject any tender in whole or in part and does not bid itself to accept any tender or to give reasons for its rejection.
