1. This invitation for bids 9IFB0 follows the General procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB Online) No. 789 of 13th December 2010 and on the African Development Banks Internet Website (www.adbd.org )

2. The Government of Kenya on behalf of Athi Water Services Board has received loan financing from the African Development Bank (ADF) in various currencies towards the cost of Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation dad Restoration Program: Sewerage Improvement Project: It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan financing will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for construction of Ablution Block in Nairobi Informal Settlements.

3. The project involves construction of 50 ablution blocks within proposed areas of Mathare, Kawangare, Korogocho, Kibera, Huruma, Babadogo, Kiambu, Kangemi and Gitari Marigu to be supervised by a Consultant. The construction of the ablution block is expected to take one year with a one year defects liability period.

4. The Athi Water Services Board now invites sealed bids form eligible bidders for the construction and completion of Ablution Blocks in Nairobi Information Settlements (hereinafter called “The works”).International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Banks Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Works.

6. A complete set of biding document may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of nonrefundable fee of Kenya Shillings Five thousand only (Kshs. 5, 000)

7. Provisions in the instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Banks standard Bidding documents for procurement of Works.

8. Bids must be delivered to eth above office on or before 1200 hours on 27th May 2013 and must be accompanied by a security of KSHS. Two million Five hundred thousand only (Kshs. 2, 500. 00) in the form of Bank Guarantee.

9. Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.
