The Kenya Urban Roads Authority, KURA, has announced the commencement of works to construct the Ngong Road – Naivasha road flyover. In a 16th September 2024 press release, KURA says this flyover will enhance efficiency of Ngong Road through grade separation.
The project completion time is set for July 2027 and will cost an estimated Ksh 3.58 Billion. The project is fully funded by a concessional loan from the Spanish Corporate International Fund (FIEM).
As has now become the trend, the project has safety factored in through the inclusion of Non Motorized Transport(NMT) facilities ensuring safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists. The project scope also includes installation of street lighting, improving of the drainage facilities and Landscaping within the project’s coverage area.
