PROPOSED CLIMATE CHANGE RESOURCES CENTER AT KENYA METROLOGY DEPARTMENT FOR MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND MINERAL RESOURCES(MAIN AND DOMESTIC SUB – CONTRACT WORKS) closing Date:14th August 2012 :
            
The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Public Works invites tenders form contractors who carry out the following works.

Interested contractors who are registered in relevant trade and categories, (proof of registration required) may obtain Tender Documents form contracts documentation office, 4th floor room 412, Ministry of Public Works, Ngong Road in person or against written application. The non refundable fee is to be paid in cash to account No. 0-401-000 – 3520300 at the cash office before 4. 00pm on normal working days or in bankers cheque payable to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Works, Nairobi.
 
Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as a minimum, supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation.
1)      The bid bond must be in form of bank Guarantee for a reputable bank of approved insurance company.
2)      The bid bond must be in form of Bank Guarantee for a reputable bank or approved insurance company.
3)      Adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works
4)      Sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line
5)      Litigation history of the company (both court and arbitration cases)
6)      Confidential Business Questionnaire
7)      Tax compliance certificate
 
Further, tenders from the following tenders shall be treated as non  – responsive and therefore subject to automatic disqualification:
i)                    A tender for a tenderer whose on-going projects is/are behind schedule and without and approved extension of time.
ii)                   A tender from a tenderer who has been served with a default notice on on-going projects of a tenderer who has been terminated in a Government Contract in the past and has not been reinstated in the Register of Contractors
 
iii)                 A tender from a  tenderer with on-going exceeding four (4) number, regardless of the total value of the outstanding works.
 
iv)                 A tender form a tenderer whose tender sum is plus or minus 10% of the official estimates.
 
 Tenders in plain sealed envelopes marked number on the right hand side corner and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:

NAIROBI
 
And placed in the tender box on 5th floor at the Works Building, Ngong Road, Nairobi or sent by post so as to reach the above address not later than 14th August 2012 at 10. 00 am.
Submitted bids will not be opened publicly in the Conference Room, 5th floor, Works Building, soon after the above stated closing date and time in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend.  Late bids will be returned unopened.
Prices quoted must remain valid for one hundred twenty (120) days from the opening of the tender.
 
The Bid security, which must be form an established bank, or approved insurance company, shall be valid for one hundred fifty (150) days from tender opening date.
 
 The Government reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
