Nakuru County could be the country’s source of fertilizer with the construction of a fertilizer plant underway.  The Governor of Nakuru County, Kinuthia Mbugua has said a fertilizer factory will be constructed in the county in a move he says will solve fertilizer shortages in the county.

Mr. Kinuthia said an investor has agreed to start supplying local farmers with subsidized fertilizer before he puts up a production factory.

“There is high demand for organic fertilizer in the county due to the high number of farmers and we have identified an investor ready to address the demand,” he said speaking to reporters in his office on Friday.
