REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL REF NO: NWSB/RFP/O01/2013-2014

CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR REVIEW/REDESIGN OF BUTE DAM

Northern Water Services Board is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, created under the Water Act 2002 with a mandate to enhance effectively coordinated provision of affordable and accessible safe water and sanitation services in NWSB region.

Northern Water Services Board now invites sealed Proposals for the above named Consultancy. Interested firms should provide information and documents indicating that they are qualified to provide the required services. The information should include:

1. The legal status of the firm (copy of certificate of incorporation/ registration with relevant bodies)

2. Copies of valid VAT.PIN and Tax Compliance Certificates.

3. Provide details (names, qualification and relevant experience) of key staff members in the organization who shall be involved in the assignment, who should include a dam expert.

4. Profile of the firm, indicating relevant experience with details of similar assignment undertaken to demonstrate ability and capability to carry out this assignment

5. Provide references from at least three (3) reputable organization where you have provided similar services

Scope of Work

1. ‘ Review feasibility design, engineering design and detailed design of the dam structure.

2. Selection of dam site, type and height.

3. Topographical surveys and preparation of maps

4. Geological, Geophysical and Geotechnical investigations

5. Seismic studies

6. Construction Material survey

7. Meteorological and hydrological studies

8. Climate change assessment.

A Complete set of tender documents can be obtained by interested candidates upon payment of non-refundable fees of Kshs 5,000.00 per set of documents in cash or banker’s cheque payable to Northern Water Services Board.

The completed tender responses i.e. “technical” and “financial” in plain sealed envelope clearly marked “Request for Proposal for consultancy services for review/redesign of Bute dam” and should be addressed and sent to:

Or, may be deposited in tender box situated on the ground floor at Northern Water Services Board office Garissa so as to be received on or before the 31″ July 2013 at 11.00 am. Prices quoted should be in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for 120 days from the closing date of the tender.

The tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in NWSB conference room in the presence of bidders or their representatives who may wish to attend.

The board reserves the right to accept or reject any application in part or whole, and is not bound to give reason for its decision.
