INVITATION FOR BIDS
CONSTRUCTION OF WEIGHBRIDGE STATION INCLUDING SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF TWO BRAND NEW WEIGHBRIDGE SCALES AT VIGWAZA IN COAST REGION
TENDER NO: AE/001/2011-12/HQ/W/106
 
1. This incitation for Bids follows the General procurement Notice Issue No. 771 for this project that appeared in the UN Development Business online and Market of 31st January 2006.
 
2. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, has received a Credit form the International Development Association )ida0, towards the cost of the East Africa Trade and Transport Facilitation Project (EATTFP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to cover eligible payment under the Contract for the Construction of Weighbridge Scales at Vigwaza in Coast Region,.
 
Bidding is being conducted through International Competitive Biding (ICB) in accordance with the World Bank Guidelines.
 
3. THE Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) and Agency of the Ministry of works hereinafter referred to as the Employer now invites sealed bids form eligible and qualified bidders for the Construction of Weighbridge Station including Supply and installation of two Brand new WEIGHBRIDGE SCALES AT Vigwaza in Coast Region – Tender No. AE/001/2011-12/HQ/W106
The Works consist of construction of approach lanes, parking yards, office and sub office building furnished and equipped with generator house and garage and public toilet facilities.
The estimated quantities for major works items are :

In addition, canopies or shades will be constructed to cover the weighbridge scales of total length of 26 m by 9.9 m wide each.

4. Bidders are required to provide full and detailed particulars of their financial capability top perform such works and to demonstrate that they have experienced key personnel with appropriate qualifications. Bidders should also note that the works must be completed within 365 days including 90 days of mobilization period.
 
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at eh office of the secretary Tanroads, Hqt Tender Board, 4th floor, Airtel house Ali Hassan Mwinyi / Kawawa Roads junction, Dar es Salaam; Telephone +255 22 2926001 – 6 between 08. 00 am and 04.30 pm o form Monday to Friday inclusive, except ion public holidays.
 
6. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders at the above office, on submission of a written application to the address given above ad upon payment of a non refundable fee of Tshs. 200, 000 (Tanzanian shillings Two thousand only0 or its equivalent in freely convertible currency, payable by bankers Cheque, Bankers Draft to Cash to the Chief Executive, Tanzania National ROADS Agency (TANROADS) p. o. Box 11364 Dar es Salaam.
 
7. Ids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after BID OPENING, and must be accompanied by a Bid security in original and in an acceptable form in the amount to Tshs. 150, 000., 000. 00 9Tanzania shillings One hundred fifty million only0 in a freely convertible currency and the bid must be delivered to:

8. The deadline for submission of bids shall be at 10. 00 hours local time on 18th October 2012. Bids will be opened in public in the TANROADS Conference Room, 4th floor, TANROADS Headquarters, Airtel House, ALI Hassan Mwinyi/Kawawa Roads Junction, Dar es Salaam immediately after submission deadline and in the presence of Bidders representatives who choose to attend. The outer cover of the bids must be clearly marked.

Site visit will take place on 14th September 2012 at 10. 00 hours local time commencing at the Regional Managers Office, Kibaha IN Coast Region.
 
Pre – Bid meeting shall take place the same day immediately after the site visit.
 
9. Late bids, sent electronically including by telefax will not be accepted at the time of bid opening irrespective of the circumstances.
