Routine Maintenance Works

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is a State Corporation established under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MOTI); established under Kenya Roads Act, 2007 with the core mandate of management, development,, rehabilitation and maintenance of all public Roads in Cities and Municipalities in Kenya except where those Roads are National Roads. As a leading Government Agency with the above mandate, KURA wishes to invite bids from eligible construction companies for road works as described below within Lower Eastern Region to be funded through Road Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF)

Interested bidders MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in various categories as indicated below:-

Bidders may examine and obtain detailed tender documents during normal working hours, from Kenya Urban Roads Authority Regional Office located at Lower Eastern Region, situated at the Public Works Office along Machakos/Nairobi Road and at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Office Kitui upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) for each document in form of a Bankers Cheque payable to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority. The same document may be downloaded from our website at www.kura.go.ke/tenders free of charge. Bidders who will have bought the document are required to attach a copy of an official receipt as proof of payment. For those who will download the document, they will be required to provide their details by registering at the procurement office immediately after the site visit. No bidder shall be awarded more than one contract.

Qualification for Tendering (Mandatory)

The bidders are expected to include the following in their bids:-

(a) Certified copy of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation

(b) Certified copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate

(d) Certified copy of Recent CR12 form -(12 months) from Registrar of Companies

NB: The certification must be by a commissioner for oaths.

The criteria of evaluation of bids

The criteria shall be as described in the tender documents.

Description of Works

The description and scope of works is as described in the tender documents.
