TENDER NOTICE

REHABILITATION AND REPAIR OF ROAD JCN C58

(KISERIAN) -KAHARA

Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, through Kenya Rural Roads Authority hereby invites sealed tenders from contractors prequalified in Kajiado County for the Financial Year 2013/14 under category A (Paved roads) for rehabilitation works on the above road.

1. SCOPE OF WORKS

The scope of works includes but is not limited to:-

Installation and cleaning of drainage works

Repair of existing carriageway

Provision of 35mm asphalt concrete type ll (0/14) to the carriageway and shoulders

Provision of a single seal 10/14mm pre-coated chippings and 80/100 as binder

Any other auxiliary work as directed by the Engineer

2. QUALIFICATION FOR BIDDING

The requirements for bidding are as follows:-

Certified copy of proof of registration with National Construction Authority ‘NCA 5 and above’ for road works

Thresholds specified for the bid documents covering the following:-

Similar previous work experience

Turnover and liquid assets supported by audited accounts for the previous two (2) consecutive years

Current work load

Litigation history

VAT registration

PIN registration

Valid Tax Compliance Certificate

Complete set of separate tender documents for the roads may be obtained from the KeRRA offices, Kajiado by interested eligible bidders upon payment of non-refundable fee of Ksh. 1,000.00 for the project in Banker’s cheque payable to Kenya Rural Roads Authority. A mandatory pre-bid site visit for the project shall be held on 12th September 2014 at 10.00:am starting from the junction of Kiserian-lsinya (D523) and Kiserian – Magadi (C58) roads.

Opening of the bids will take place immediately thereafter at the Regional Manager’s office Kajiado, in the presence of Bidders/Representatives who wish to attend.
