Assignment title: CONSULTING SERVICES FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND SUPERVISION OF WORKS FOR ‘DESIGN-AND-BUILD’ OF RUIRU II DAM WATER SUPPLY PROJECT
CONTRACT NO. AWSB/AFDSF/RDBWS/CS-01/2017
The Athi Water Services Board has requested for financing from the French Development Agency (AFD), and intends to use part of the funds thereof for payments under the following project Consulting Services for Design Review and Supervision of works for ‘Design-and-Build’ of Ruiru II Dam Water Supply Project
The scope of works for the “Design-and Build” of Ruiru II. Dam water supply project includes:
Construction of a 55m high earth fill Dam of crest width of 375m with clay core and selected filter material, and of storage capacity 13Mm3
Construction of Raw and treated water pipelines 43Km long and diameters 700-850mm
Construction of a water treatment plant of capacity 40,000m3/day
Construction of a storage tank capacity 38,000m3
The mission of the consultant shall consist of Review of Survey Works
Review of Engineering Design prepared by the ‘Design-and-Build’ contractor
Supervision of construction Works to ensure works quality control and quality assurance
Supervision of the implementation of ESMP
Review and update of Resettlement Action Plan
Management of Works Contract
Review and Validate Payment Requests and Other Related Issues
Review and Verify Completion Activities and Remedial Works
The Athi Water Services Board hereby invites consultants to show their interest in delivering the services described above.
In order to confirm their eligibility for AFD’s financing, consultants should submit in their expression of interest a duly signed Statement of Integrity (Consultants are advised to download the Statement of Integrity from the website: www.awsboard.go.ke )
Determination of the similarity of the experiences will be based on:
Experience in design review and supervision of ‘Design-and-Build’ works contracts
Experience in design review and supervision of Dam works, Water treatment plant and water transmission pipelines. Experience in similar conditions.
Availability of appropriate skills amongst staff including Project Manager, Resident Engineer, Water Treatment Engineer, Geotechnical / Soils Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer, Dam Expert, Social and Environmental expert)
Among the submitted applications, Athi Water Services Board will shortlist a maximum of 6 consultants, to whom the Request for Proposals to carry out the services shall be sent.
Expressions of interest must be submitted to the address below no later than 31st March, 2017 12.00pm East African Time.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 0800 hours to 1700 Hours East African Time from Monday to Friday, except during lunch hour (1300 hours to 1400 hours), during weekends and public holidays at the address given below.
