INVITATION TO TENDER

PROPOSED KENYATTA UNIVERSITY CHILDREN HOSPITAL

Kenyatta University invites sealed tenders from eligible contractors for construction of Kenyatta University Children Hospital. (Tender No: KU/TNOR/74/KUCH/ 2014-2015).

Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as minimum supported by relevant documents during submission will be considered for further evaluation:-

Contractor must be registered by National Construction Authority, NCA1 for building works.

Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years.

Equipment and personnel for the type of work.

Sound financial standing (audited accounts for the last three (3) years) and adequate access to bank credit line.

Litigation history (both court and arbitration cases)

Valid tax compliance certificate

Confidential business questionnaire (Properly filled and signed)

Bid bond of 1% of tender sum

In addition, tenders from the following tenderers shall be treated as NON – RESPONSIVE and therefore subject to automatic disqualification:-

i. A tender from a tenderer whose on – going Project(s) is/are behind schedule and without approved extension of time.

ii. Tender from a tenderer who has been served with a default notice on going project(s) or a tenderer who has been terminated in a Government contract in the past and has not been reinstated by the Registrar of Contractors.

A complete set of Tender documents (including bill of quantities) may be inspected and/or obtained during normal working hours from Kenyatta University Procurement Department (Central administration complex, Ground floor), upon payment of non refundable fee of Kshs. 1000.00 during normal working hours. The fee to be deposited in:-

Please take your bank slip to the Cashier to be issued with an official receipt before collecting the tender documents from Procurement Department.

Prices quoted should be net inclusive of all taxes and costs; must be in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid 120 days from closing date of the tender.

Tenderer’s shall submit ONE(l) copy of tender document marked “ORIGINAL” and ONE(l) copy marked “COPY” enclosed in plain sealed envelope clearly marked “TENDER NO. KU/ TNDR/74/KUCH/ 2014-2015). This should be deposited in the tender box situated at Kenyatta University Procurement Department (Central administration complex, Ground floor) and should be addressed to:
