Invitation for Prequalification for Civil Works for Construction of Thwake Dam Embankment

and Associated Works:

This Invitation forPrequalification (IFP) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AFDB 568-09/13 of 17th SEPTEMBER, 2013 and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank ADB toward the cost of the Thwake Multipurpose Water Development Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for Civil Works for Construction of Thwake Dam Embankment and Associated Works intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Civil Works for Construction of Thwake Dam Embankment and Associated Works.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the Rules.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the Prequalification Document at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, State Department of Water (address below) from 8:00 to 17 hours local time. A complete set of the Prequalification Document in English may be purchased by interested applicants through the submission of a written application to the address below, and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Kshs. 3000.00 (Kenya shillings three thousand only). The method of payment will be cash payable at cash office on Ground Floor, Maji House or a bankers cheque payable to The Principal Secretary, State Department of Water, Nairobi. The document will be collected from Room 453/233, Maji House, Ngong Road, Nairobi.

Applications for Prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 30th June, 2015, and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Civil Works for Construction of Thwake Dam Embankment and Associated Works: Tender No. MEWNR/TMWDP-1/W001/2014-15”
