INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB) FORTHE CONSTRUCTION OF A DOUBLE CIRCUIT 33kV RING FROM KIWANGA SUBSTATION IN NAMANVETO KAMPALA INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS PARK ON ATURNKEY BASIS

Umeme is the largest electricity distribution company in Uganda. It’s mandated to: Operate, maintain, upgrade and expand the distribution network; retail electricity to its customers and to improve efficiency within the electricity distribution system. It is listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange and on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

Summary of Requirement

Umeme Ltd is seeking a competent and experienced Contractor(s) to undertake Construction of a Double Circuit 33kV Ring from Kiwanga Substation in Namanve to Kampala Industrial Business Park on a Turnkey basis.

Availability of Bid Documents

The bid documents can be received after completing the respective registration form and submitting it to the Umeme email address provided on the form at least ten (10) days before the closing date of the tender or any other date as advised by written amendments/clarifications. The registration forms can be downloaded from the Umeme website (www.umeme.co.ug) from Thursday 17th December 2015 . Click on About Us then select Available Tenders to download the registration form.

Closing Date and Time for Proposals

Bids must be submitted no later than 1100 hours East African Time on 11th February 2016 in the format and to the location set forth in the IFB.

There will be a site/pre-bid conference on Wednesday 13th January 2016 where the requirements will be fully explained to the prospective bidders who will have submitted their registration forms by then.
