SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE/ INVITATION FOR BIDS

132kv Menengai – Soilo (Nakuru pipeline) transmission line and New Menengai 132kv Substation for the 100 MW Menengai Geothermal power Project

1.   The Kenya Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd. (KETRACO) as the Government implementing agency, invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the works described below:

132kV Menengai – Soilo Transmission Line and New Menengai 132kv Substation for the 100 MW Menengai Geothermal Power Project

The major works to be carried out by the Contractor shall comprise of but not be limited to the following:

•    Construct a new 132kV substation comprising of five (5) 132kV bays complete with protection, communication and control facilities at Menengai

•    Construction of 132kV double circuit line from Menengai substation to Soilo (Nakuru Pipeline) substation (Approximately l5kM).

•    Termination and integration at the Soilo (Nakuru Pipeline) and Lanet Substations.

•    Integration of SCADA and telecommunication equipment to the existing system.

2.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of KETRACO at the address given below:

3.    A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of KES 1,000 in cash payable at the cash office during official working hours.

4.    The provisions in the Instructions to 8idders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Plant, Design, Supply and Installation Services: Single Stage Bidding (without prequalification)”.

5.    Bids must be delivered to the office below on or before 10:00 am 9 December 2013 and must be accompanied by a bid security dutlined in the bidding document.

6.    Bids will be opened on 9th December 2013 at 10:00 AM at the KETRACO offices in the in the presence of bidders’ who choose to attend or their representatives.
