TO BITUMEN STANDARD

INVITATION TO TENDER

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority hereby invites bids from prequalified Contractors in Murang’a County for Construction of:-

Sabasaba – Kandani – Gakuyu – Kandiri – Road E1578
Gachocho – Gikoe – Road E519 to bitumen standards.
Eligible bidders must meet the following qualification criteria among others.

Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation under the Companies Act;
Certified copy of Form CR12 (list of Directors) issued by the Registrar of Companies;
Certified copy of Registration Certificate National Construction Authority (NCA) – Categories 4, 5 & 6 only;
Certified Copies of Training Certificates of One Director and two Technical Supervisors who have completed Low Volume Seal Roads Labour based course from Kisii Training College.
Provide proof of overall financial soundness (attach bank statements, letter of credit & signed and , stamped audited accounts for the last 3 years).
Minimum average annual construction works turnover for the last three years-KShs 30million. Access to or has available liquid assets of minimum KShs 5.0 million.

       f.  Certified copies of log books or current lease agreement of appropriate Equipment (see the list on standard Form   E15).

       g. Certified Copy of Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);

       h. Provide tender Security of KShs 100,000.00 per tender document in either of the following forms; (a) Banker’s Cheque (b) Bank Guarantee (c) Guarantee from a PPOA approved insurance company (d) Letter of credit.

Tenderers may tender for more than one contract but shall only be considered for award of only one contract. Tenders shall be valid for a period of 120 days after the Tender opening.

Adequacy of qualifications will be determined through an evaluation as described in the instructions to the tenderers.

Tenders with detailed specifications may be purchased for a non-refundable fee of Kshs 1,000 each at the office of the Regional Manager Murang’a beginning Thursday 5th March 2015. Interested Tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the documents prior to purchase at the same office.

There will be a mandatory Pre-tender site visit on Thursday 12th March, 2015 to be conducted by the Regional Manager starting at 9.00am from the office of the Regional Manager.

The completed tender documents put in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender No. KeRRA/MUR/ LVS/1/2014/2015 and KeRRA/MUR/LVS/2/2014/2015 should be addressed to the:-

The tender documents shall be deposited in the Tender Box at the office of the Regional Manager on or before Thursday 5thApril, 2015. Opening of the tenders will take place at il.30am in the presence of Tenderers/ Representatives who wish to attend.
