PROPOSED MEDICAL TRAINING LABORATORY AND CLINIC AT KISUMU POLYTECHNIC
Tenders are invited for the construction of Proposed Medical Training Laboratory and Clinic at Kisumu Polytechnic and Associated Specialist Sub – Contracts.

Interested contractors, who are fully registered in relevant trades and categories (proof of registration by relevant Government of Kenya authorities and have carried our similar works in the last five years, may obtain tender documents from the Kisumu Polytechnic procurement office upon payment of the indicated nonrefundable tender fees. The fees is payable in cash at the Cash Office before 4. 000 pm on normal working days or in bankers cheque payable to Kisumu Polytechnic.
 
Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as a minimum, supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation.

1. Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years
2. The Bid bond must be in form of Bank Guarantee from a reputable bank or approved Insurance Company
3. Adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works.
4. Sound finical standing and adequate access to bank credit line
5. Litigation in History of the Company (both court and arbitration cases)
6. Confidential Business Questionnaire
7. TAX Compliance Certificate
 
Further, tenders from the following tenders shall be treated as non-responsive and therefore subject to automatic disqualification.
i) A tender from a tenderer whose on – going project(s) is are behind schedule and without an approved extension of time.
ii) A tender for a tender who has been served with a default notice ongoing projects or a tenderer who has been terminated in a Government Contract in the past and has not been reinstated in the Register of Contracts.
iii) A tender form a tender with on-going projects exceeding four (4) in number, regardless of the total of the outstanding works.
iv) A tender from a tenderer with on – going projects exceeding four (4) in number regardless of the total value of the outstanding works.
v) A tender form a tender whose tender sum is plus or minus 10percent of the official estimate.
 
Tenders in plain sealed envelopes, bearing the tender number on the right hand corner and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:

And placed in the tinder box situated at the reception of the Kisumu Polytechnic Administration Block so as to reach the above not later than 7th November 2011 at 10. 30 am.
 
Submitted bids will be opened publicly in the meeting room at the Administration Block soon after the above stated closing date and time in the presence of the tenders or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids will be returned unopened.
 
Prices quoted must remain valid for one hundred twenty 9120) days form the opening date of tender.
 
The Bid security which must be form an established bank or approved insurance company shall be valid for one hundred fifty (150) days from tender opening date.
 
Kisumu Polytechnic reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest of any tender.
