Kenya Rural Roads Authority Tender: construction of Umande – Jua Kali – Akorino road D462 (Phase 1) – 15km to bitumen standard. Closing Date 01/11/2012    

KENYA RURAL ROADS AUTHORITY
INVITATION TO TENDER
The Authority hereby invites bids on behalf of the Ministry of Roads for construction of Umande – Jua Kali – Akorino road D462 (Phase 1) – 15km to bitumen standard.

a) Roadwork’s
The scope of work includes but is not limited to:
i) Provision of supervision services
ii) Site clearance and top soil removal
iii) Earthworks
iv) Preparation of the sub grade to receive the pavements layers as per the special specifications
v) Provision of lime/cement improved sub base and base extended or as specified
vi) Construction of Asphalt Concrete surfacing as per specifications
vii) Provision of surface dressing wearing course in carriageway
viii) Construction of pipe culverts, box culverts and other ancillary drainage works
ix) Installation of road furniture
x) Maintenance of passage of traffic through and around the works
xi) Maintenance of works during construction and defects liability period

Qualification for tendering all tenders
Procurement shall be based on the post qualification method and the following details must be submitted together with the priced bid:-
 
a) Registration with the Ministry of Roads in Category “B” minimum
b) Thresholds specified in the Tender documents covering the following:-
i) Similar previous experience
ii) Equipment holding
iii) Professional and technical personnel
iv) Turnover and liquid assets supported by Audited Accounts for the previous three (3) consecutive years
v) Current work load
vi) Litigation history
vii) VAT registration
viii) PIN registration
ix) Valid Tax Compliance certificate
 
Bid documents will be available from the Manager Procurement) Kenya Rural Roads Authority offices on 10th floor, Blue Shield Towers, Hospital Road from 2nd October 2012 upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 5, 000 (Five thousand only0 by Bankers cheque against an official receipt of the Authority
 
Re-tender site visit
Bidders shall converge at Nanyuki Regional Managers Office, Laikipia County by 10:30 am on 16th October 2012.

Or deposited in the Tender box on the 6th floor, Blue Shield Towers, Hospital Road so as to be received on or before 11: 00 am on 1st November 2012.
 
Opening of the bids will take place beginning 11. 15 am the same day at the conference room, Blue Shield Towers, 6th floor, in the presence of Tenderers Representatives who wish to attend.
